A couple of people have
asked me what I think about the Scottish referendum - usually something like
this would be talked about in pubs or around the coffee machine but zilch: I
have not heard anyone mention it in England, probably because it doesn't make
the slightest bit of difference to us either way. I know 'experts' are saying
different but they are wrong.
Right now it hangs in the
balance - so they tell us. One thing I do know it would be financial disaster
for Scotland. as I said for England it makes not a jot of difference. There
isn’t stacks of good oil around Scotland; there is a small amount of okayish
oil then a lot of really murky oil that would be very hard to process.
Scotland would end up in the
wilderness I am afraid. On the edge of Europe pushed aside. For the sake of
their children they need to stay with their big sister England and although
they squabble as siblings do they will also take care of each other in times of
need.
At some time in the future
(no idea when) I see some sort of a partial break away – I am not really sure
what that means. It almost looks like only part of Scotland breaks away and
part becomes more of England. But that could be a long way off.
For now Scotland needs to
play safe – as the old saying goes if it ain't broke don’t fix it. Most Scots
are sensible enough not to put themselves in such a precarious situation and be
at the mercy of the wicked step parent of Europe who will most definitely push
Scotland into the background. Seriously use your intuition and think, ‘would
Europe help Scotland in anyway.’ I think your intuition will tell you
otherwise.
